The city of Jaipur was founded by Sawai Jai Singh in the 18th century. He belonged to the royal clan of the Kachawas of Jaipur. Transportation in Jaipur

Bus travel – This is the cheapest and best mode to travel in the city. There are also many tourist buses in service offered by the Rajasthan government. These buses offer the tourists full day tours, half day tours and night tours. One can book online through the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and their charges range any thing from rupees 150/- to rupees 300/- depending upon the class of travel.

Autos – In Jaipur one can get a sightseeing slip from the Jaipur Police department to travel to all the tourist spots at a pre-determined price. The autos don’t charge extra for night fares and it safe to travel in an auto during the night. Usually the autos charge rupees 350/- for a tour around the city.
